To celebrate the first game in the new Vikings stadium (which just happen to be vs. the Packers), we had a tailgate party and encouraged tenants to wear their Vikings/Packers gear. These two ladies really got in the spirit with their Brett Farve jerseys! SKOL!

The Villas of Oak Park residents look forward to their puppy visits from CoCo’s Heart Rescue twice a month! CoCo’s Heart Rescue brings in puppies that are currently up for adoption to visit and play with the residents.
Being with a dog can help reduce cortisol (a stress hormone), and help boost levels of the serotonin (the happy hormone). Dogs seem to have an instinct for when sad or frightened people need to be comforted. For seniors facing fears of the future or surgery, a pup can help someone stay in the moment. Dogs can also help relieve the stresses of people with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Patients with dementia experience bouts of agitation, and pups can help calm them down. Our residents at Villas of Oak Park Senior Living recently enjoyed an excursion to the Minnesota Zoo! Following breakfast, we took an early-morning bus trip down to Apple Valley. Once inside the zoo, we snacked on complimentary coffee and treats. It was Senior Day at the zoo, and the place was packed.
Some of us hit the gift shop–it wasn’t easy walking away from the adorable plush animals! After our coffee, we joined a huge crowd inside the IMAX theatre, where we watched “Wild Africa” in 3D. The 3D glasses were a riot! After many laughs and a wild movie adventure, we headed back home just in time for lunch.Read More
